The 2025 dragonfly season is well underway, and there is already plenty to see.

Scarce Chasers – despite their name – are very common in the area now and can be seen almost anywhere, but are still a wonderful sight. Downy Emeralds appear to be dispersing and have been seen at Willington and Cople, as well as the usual stronghold in the Heath and Reach area near Leighton Buzzard. Norfolk Hawkers are also on the wing in the area and I’ve seen these at Felmersham Gravel Pits and at the Grange Estate in Willington.

I’ve recently bought some new camera equipment and getting some nice photos, I’ll be updating the website and adding and refreshing pictures as time allows.
