The dragonfly season is finally here after a long wet spring. The weather hasn’t been the best and it sometimes feels like the dragonflies and damselflies haven’t bothered to emerge yet!

However I’ve still managed to get out with my camera and have enjoyed watching summer slowly make an appearance. Dragonfly watching is always interesting and you never know what you may see – Downy Emerald at The Grange Estate at Willington recently caught me by surprise, so it’s always worth keeping an eye open for something unexpected.
